From the refuge you can take short walks to enjoy the silence and the flora, and to admire the wonderful surrounding landscape. It is possible, for example, to reach in just 10 minutes the east ramparts of Croda dei Toni, which, especially in the morning, show surprising colors and light, dotted by the Black Lake that, after the last landslides, has a turquoise color.
Or, in half an hour, you can reach two mountain passes: the Maria pass on the South side and the Giralba pass on the North side. The first leads to the Croda Dei Toni via ferrata with a beautiful view of Pian Dei Buoi and Marmarole and the second offers a panorama that sweeps over the Crode Fiscaline, Cima Undici and Popera, on the amphitheater of Alta Val Fiscalina with the R. Zsigmondy-Comici.

Coming down from the Giralba pass, staying on the higher side above the Lago Ghiacciato (frozen lake), you can walk along the long ridge of the Lista in ½ hour and from its summit you’ll dominate the valley, in the presence of the crown of mountains that surround Sesto. Pushing your gaze far away you can even see the mountains of Austria.
